Quotation of the Week
Inner Journeys with Anne Marie Bennett Integrating the Practice of SoulCollage® Into Our Daily Lives Weaving a Life When my dad retired many years ago, he surprised us all by purchasing a floor loom. He’d always had an artistic streak, even though he was an accountant, so it was wonderful to watch his colorful creations emerge from his imagination and the loom. My father is now deceased, but the many gifts he gave our family live on in our hearts, and on our kitchen tables (lots of place mats!). I loved to watch him weave, immersing
himself in the peacefulness of creation. Before beginning a
project he would always warp the loom. Warping is the process of
putting yarn on the loom from top to bottom. This provides the
piece with a structure and background. Then the weaving began! Various colors and textures found their way into the weft of whatever design he was creating. When a ball of yarn was running low, he would simply tie more on to it, and keep right on weaving. Sometimes he made a mistake. At this point, he would usually undo it and redo it, because my dad was a perfectionist. But there are some Native American traditions that always and intentionally incorporate a mistake into their art works, to symbolize the fact that no one and nothing is absolutely perfect (except the Divine). I often think of my own life as a Divine Weaving. Many times when I’ve lost my way and feel like I’m getting nowhere, it’s simply because I’m looking at the backside of my life’s weaving. God always sees the intended design on the front as it’s meant to be: bold and colorful and just right, designed especially for me. Also, I try to remember that as the weaver of my own life, I have the choice of what colors and textures and images to incorporate into my Divine Weaving. The proverb above has always resonated with me. Begin to weave and God will give the thread. When I begin a new SoulCollage® card, I am reminded to simply trust the process and all will be provided. When I venture onto a new path on my life’s journey, it encourages me to have faith that everything I need is already mine. Just like a weaving of cotton or wool, my own life is warped with God’s grace, and woven with the color and beauty of a divine original design. SoulCollage® ExpressionsIdeas and Challenges to Spice Up Your SoulCollage® Practice Challenge of the Week Write a dialogue between you and your inner wise self about what is being woven into your life right now. Ask for advice if you need to, or express gratitude, or both. Is there something or someone you are longing to weave into your life right now? What? Who? Take some quiet meditation time this week to turn the weavings of your life over to Spirit/Source.

Our Next Tele-Class Power Animals, with Michele Lessirard Shamanic teacher/practitioner and SoulCollage® Facilitator in Florida. Last evening, just before dusk,
I (Michele) looked out our family room window to see two great
horned owls dancing on the ground by our palm tree. Owls rarely come
down out of the trees to such a vulnerable place. What does the Owl
dance mean? How would you work with the Owl's message? There are two main types of helping allies that shamans consult and work with in their journeys: power animals, also known as guardian spirits, and teachers in human form. In this teleclass we'll explore SoulCollage® and the relationship of power animals beyond the body chakras. In building relationship with our helping allies we come to know our true essence; from this place of power we feel more connected and grounded, better able to move out into the world in service to our family and community. During the teleclass we'll explore Nature, power animals and the SoulCollage® process. Michele will talk about power loss, power animals and the soul retrieval process using your SoulCollage® cards. Attend this Power Animal tele-class and you have a chance to win a copy of Sandra Ingerman’s book Shamanic Journeying: A Beginner's Guide If you have any animal companion cards in your SoulCollage® Deck, please bring them with you to the call, along with your journal and a pen. Your body is a powerful vessel of your wisdom, your life journey and your own unique expression of the Divine. Add movement and dance to your SoulCollage® practice, and you'll create a multi-sensory journey which will deepen your experience. Join us as we explore playful and sacred ways to connect your inner-dancer to your card-maker self. This tele-class will include experiential movement activities as well as discussion. That's right, we'll be moving instead of just sitting and listening! You'll learn creative ways to add movement and dance prior to card making as well as ideas and suggestions for conducting solo and group movement and dance "readings" with your SoulCollage® deck. Please attend this call in a room where you have some space to move freely and safely, and use a phone with speaker-phone capability if possible. It would be helpful to have a yoga mat or blanket for the session as well as your SoulCollage® cards nearby. No previous movement or dance experience necessary. Invite your inner-dancer to come out and play! October, 2009 A lively teaching on the chakras, and how they relate to SoulCollage® within the context of the Companions Suit. Facilitated by Jenni Holloway, SoulCollage® Facilitator in San Diego.
