Singing with Anne Marie |
Hi!
I'm Anne Marie, the creator of KaleidoSoul.com, and a
SoulCollage® facilitator in Massachusetts. If you're
just starting to sing your song with SoulCollage®, this column is
especially for you.
Editor's Note: I am taking this month off from writing a full column here, as I get back on my feet after 4 months of chemo treatments. Here is a card I'd like to share with y'all that goes with this theme:
I am the one who loves being part of a couple.
I am the one who loves loving.
I am the one who loves to give and receive affection.
I am the one who mates for life.
My gift to you is physical, spiritual and emotional connection with another human being. I give you joy in knowing that you are loved deeply and in knowing that you have loving gifts to offer in return.
Anne Marie Bennett is a writer, self-taught
artist, website goddess, cancer survivor, and SoulCollage®
Facilitator / Trainer who was mentored directly by Seena Frost. In
2005, she fell in love with SoulCollage® and was inspired to use
her professional experience along with Internet technology as a
means to serve the world by putting SoulCollage® "out there" in a
really big way with KaleidoSoul. Anne Marie lives in eastern
Massachusetts with her middle-aged husband, two elderly cats and
one youthful dog who keeps them all young. You can read more about
her on her website annemariebennett.com or on
her blogs Inner
Surprises, and Standing
Still.

Column: Cat Caracelo |
I am Cat Caracelo,M.A., a SoulCollage® facilitator, life coach and
transformative artist from Petaluma, California, in the San
Francisco Bay Area. This column is for those of you who have
already made some cards & are ready to discover the symphony of
voices inside of you and around you.
The Lovers Archetype
The theme of this month is one that I have explored from many perspectives –
The Lovers as an archetype, whispers of a love found in two separate halves that come together to form a whole. The
lovers are not only represented through idealized mates, but also can be seen in reflective and complementary pairings of all kinds, such as concepts, actions, symbols, souls, friends, words, images, and ideas. This archetype speaks of the various ways of being connected, twins in the pattern of relationship, with similarities and differences, exploring the art of aligning.
In Alchemy this is called the sacred marriage of the Sun King and the Moon Queen - masculine and feminine, light and dark, opposites aligning in a dance of interaction. Cross-cultural stories and myths reflect our own cycles, patterns and experiences of seeking, longing and loving. Each of us has our own relationship with this archetype of
the lovers, and all of us can seek and explore the archetype within ourselves through SoulCollage®.
When I began my journey with SoulCollage® I was in a profound discovery process. Having recently ended a long and complex marriage, I was in a hard place with love. I was grappling with where I began and others ended. Identity, roles, feelings and stories all vied for attention. I was aware of opposition and paradox within my own stories and experiences as I navigated grief and loss.
I used SoulCollage® and transformative process to explore what I was experiencing. Through the archetype of the lovers, I brought together the opposites I found within myself in a conscious act of accessing the lovers that were indeed within me.
I began to tell my stories through my art, understanding new things as I went deeper into what I thought I knew, remembered and understood. I was finding my way back to the lovers archetype, my own wholeness that was generated from seeking, finding and joining 'my lost twins' passion and compassion.
One day when I was walking at a local wetlands, I had the experience of being held between the energy of the sun and the moon. When I noticed them in the sky, I felt them both meeting each other in my body – at the solar plexus. This 'mythic moment' was a crossroads, and part of my journey of releasing what was no longer serving me while moving into new possibility.
My journey with the lovers has been a journey of life. Moving into relationship with compassion and passion is also walking a path of remembrance, crushed dreams, acceptance, releasing, deep grief, faith, sorrow, trust, simple joy and self-love. The journey has translated many ways – impacting my art and life, transforming my relationship with myself and welcoming new love.
Take a look at your SoulCollage® cards:
Where are some opposites/paradoxes that are showing up for you?
What is feeling separate or apart, in your life?
What do you want/need to release?
Is there something that wants to be united or joined?
Invite the archetype of The Lovers to guide you, create new possibility and insight through your creative dance with art, life and SoulCollage®.
