Quotation of the Week
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy;
for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ~Anatole France ![]() Inner Journeys with Anne Marie Bennett Integrating the Practice of SoulCollage Into Our Daily Lives Angels Moving the Furniture Recently I spent a few days changing the furniture around (literally, not metaphorically) in my Quiet Room. I had been feeling creatively stymied and dull as dirt whenever I walked in there... and then I realized exactly what I needed- a little feng shui can be sooo good for the soul! My desk is now near the window, and my art tables are near the door. I took every single book off of those shelves and dusted them off, then sorted through them and gave away quite a few. It doesn't really matter though. Several months from now, I will have the same feeling (creatively blocked, restless, wanting something different) and I will rearrange the furniture the way it was before (and sustain several new black and blue marks from hefting the furniture too hard), and I will be happy because the room will be like new for me again, and my creative energy will be able to flow. And this whole concept works on a larger scale as well. When I was in college, I had a friend in Divinity School who was helping me through a big transition I was going through. I was struggling, and the struggle was painful, but (kindof sortof) in a good way, because the change was a good one. My friend told me he liked to think of such transitions as "angels moving the furniture around" in our minds. Wow! That really caught my attention and it has stayed with me these past thirty years. I still love the visual image that this brings up for me. A couple of shimmery, stalwart, loving Angels scurrying around on the inside of my life, shifting things around, and always for the good, no matter how many black and blue marks the changes leave on my soul. Reflection Activities: Are you going through any personal changes or transitions right now in your life? If not, think back to the last big one you went through. What happens when you think in terms of Angels being involved in these changes, these transitions? Is there some area of your life right now, today, where the furniture needs to be moved around (or thrown out completely)? Make a SoulCollage card for a Committee part of you that resists changes in your life.

Eckhart Tolle, SoulCollage® and the Source, with Fran Cherlow, SoulCollage Facilitator in California. We'll take an inspired look at the transpersonal nature of SoulCollage and the book
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, focusing on how we embody this understanding in our lives. Tolle says that consciousness (or the "I Am" experience) is in the background of our lives. What tools can we develop to build this awareness into our everyday lives and what relationship does it have with SoulCollage? Please bring your own questions and musing for this abundant discussion. Suggested handouts to read before the class.
These include Quotations from the book A New Earth, reflection questions, and a chart that compares and contrasts concepts between SoulCollage and A New Earth.
