OCTOBER
Dialogue with the Mysteries: Part 2- Personal Mythology (The Local Story) with Robin Cooper-Stone, SoulCollage Facilitator in Virginia.
Due to the popularity of last month's tele-playshop, Robin has agreed to continue her discussion with us in October. We will discuss what Seena Frost calls "the local story," the Committee and Community suits, relative to our own personal mythologies. To paraphrase William Blake, "We must more consciously create our own myths or be enslaved to the myths of another." Towards this end, we will be answering questions with the potential to open new vistas in our SoulCollage work. Robin Cooper-Stone, M.F.A., taught The Heroic Quest in freshman composition courses at theUniversity ofAlabama. A few years ago, she took a workshop with Dr. James Hollis, author of Tracking the Gods: The Place of Myth in Modern Life. She is one year into her personal SoulCollage journey and trained to be a SoulCollage Facilitator with Seena Frost. She lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Date: Monday, October 15, 2007 Time: To be announcedSave the dates now. All of our tele-playshops are FR*EE for members, always! And remember, don't worry if you can't attend... we'll be recording them and you can listen to them anytime in your Member's Only Audio Library.

Inspiring You To Look At SoulCollage® In New Ways
  Reel to Real
Make a list of your favorite movies. Who are your favorite characters in these films? What characteristics do they bring out in you? Allow one of them to inspire a SoulCollage card for your deck. It might be a Committee Suit card representing one of your inner voices. Or it might be a Council Suit card, symbolizing one of the archetypes that have been active in your life for a long time.
NOTE: There are more SoulCollage Challenges on the KaleidoSoul Blog, Inner Surprises. Simply click on "SoulCollage Challenges" in the upper right side of the screen, in the lavender column.

| Soul Nourishment
Resources to support your inner work as you dive deeper into your beautiful soul
Books: Rock Your World with the Divine Mother, by Sondra Ray. Subtitle: Bringing the Sacred Power of the Divine Mother into Our Lives. As a fusion of feminine qualities from all religions and traditions, the Divine Mother can be a nurturing presence and a powerful guide along your individual spiritual path. Through stories, prayers, and teachings, Sondra Ray enthusiastically escorts you into the profound reawakening of the sacred feminine in the hearts and minds of seekers throughout the world.
How Did I Get Here? by Barbara DeAngelis. An uplifting, inspirational handbook for anyone of any age going through change, challenge, or reevaluation in any aspect of their lives. It is about finding your way to renewed hope and happiness from wherever you are. Renowned transformational teacher Barbara De Angelis masterfully guides you through an understanding of your own life lessons, and teaches you how to successfully use whatever you're going through as a springboard for regeneration and rebirth. Don't let the cover of the book turn you off, as I did for many months. When I finally read it, I was bowled over by this author's wisdom and insight.
Fit From Within, by Victoria Moran. Through personal experience, the author has found that maintaining weight loss is more about honesty and courage than counting carbs. In this book she presents a body-mind-spirit approach to losing weight, showing how to find self-acceptance and break the blame cycle that surrounds "forbidden foods." Start living your life today with this beautiful book. Birds in Fall, by Brad Kessler. This beautifully-crafted novel is about several people who come together at a Bed & Breakfast inNova Scotia to mourn the deaths of loved ones who died in a tragic plane crash nearby. Each person grieves in their own way, yet they are bonded together in their grief. Kessler writes so gracefully about death and about loss and love, nature and relationship. Recommended by Kindred Spirit Jane in MA. Affirmations for Artists, by Eric Maisel. This little book is chock full of meditations, quotations, affirmations and guidance for creative and performing artists, and for the creative voice that lives in each of us. Very useful and inspiring too. Music: The Journey Home, by Aeoliah. Beautiful, lush, soothing music with dolphins, bells and incredible electonic sound effects. Any music by Aeoliah will enrich and uplift your soul.
Websites:
The Great Cosmic Happy-Ass Card Company- I found one of this company's greeting cards in a store last weekend and loved it so much I didn't want to send it off in the mail (but I did). So I went online to this fun site and found many more cards. Some are funny, some are profound and wise, some will simply touch your soul, but you must at least look at them!
Comfort Queen- Pop on over to the colorful, creative site of best-selling author Jennifer Louden (that's my SoulCollage to honor her on the right). You will indeed be comforted by the wide array of tools and resources for anyone interested in self-care of the sweetest kind! A Good Day, with Brother David Steindl-Rast. This short You Tube presentation is an excellent pause in a busy day, to remind you about the power of gratitude. Shared with us by Kindred Spirit Elaine in MA.
More Than Mermaids: Artwork by Karen Bagnard. Color-washed line drawings that reflect the artist's love for fantasy and fairy tales. Not just mermaids, although they are here too.
CD Baby- abundant music to inspire your souls. Their customer service is awesome; their shipping prices are less than Amazon's; you can listen to samples of the music before you buy it; they're a big company with a great sense of humor and an excellent attitude toward their customers. All you have to do is buy there once and you'll see what I mean! Their New Age Music Collection is very broad, and perfect for background music while you're making those beautiful SoulCollage cards.
