 Inspirational words to ponder.....

We are all longing to go home tosome place we have never been -
a place half-remembered and half-envisioned wecan only catch glimpses of from time to time. Community. Somewhere, there arepeople to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in ourthroats.

·       New roles and identities as weheal through loss

·       The spiritual images, archetypes, and guideswe use in order to derive meaning from loss and change

·       How to continue bonds with lost loved ones throughvisual commemoration.

Whether you are facing the challenge of grief in your own life, or arejourneying with others as they walk the path of grief, you are invited to joinus in this important conversation.

Here Comes the Judge

Seena recommends that everyone create a "Judge" card for the Committee Suit of their Deck.  This inner voice is different than our Inner Critic, who is set on criticizing us for everything under the sun.  The Inner Judge is a part that is focused on judging other people.  My own Judge card has four (four, not one!) severe looking women on it, which I subconsciously chose I'm sure because it is such a strong and reactive part of me.  Do you have a Judge on your inner Committee?  If so, why not honor it with a SoulCollage card, and let it speak to you with some I Am The One Who's....?

SoulNourishment

Resources to support your inner work

as

you dive deeper into your beautiful soul

Books:

Images of Desire,by Jacqueline Lapa Sussman.  A Return to Natural Sensuality. I'd never heard of Eidetic Imaging before happening upon this book, butit's a fascinating technique that perfectly goes hand-in-hand with SoulCollage.Similar to guided imagery, but a slight bit different.  This book focuses on Eidetic Imaging inrelation to our sexuality and sensuality. I found it to be a wealth of vividinformation, examples and imagery suggestions. Very, very helpful,

The Mind Map Book,by Tony Buzan.  How to Use RadiantThinking to Maximize Your Brain's Untapped Potential.  Excellent resource for anyone who wants toget a grasp on their own creativity. After trying the exercises in this book, Ifeel much more comfortable with my own wild woman creative self.  Try it and see!

AHidden Wholeness, by Parker J. Palmer.  All about "Welcoming the Soul and WeavingCommunity in a Wounded World," this lovely but deep book is perfect for anyonepracticing SoulCollage.  A perfect blendof soul, community, and our healing place in the midst of a broken world.

Serving Fire: Foodfor Thought, Body and Soul, by Anne Scott.  An enchanting (enchanted?) offering of hearthlore and earth culture. Food, family, mythology, history and nature all blendtogether in a glowing hymn to hearth and home, blessed by the quiet voice ofAnne's own experiences.  She focuses onseveral fire goddesses -- Hestia (Greek), Pele (Hawaiian), Brighde (Irish) andGabija (Lithuanian), relates conversations with various teachers and healersand describes how the seasons correspond to the elements of Chinesemedicine.  And all of this in the contextof how we nourish ourselves with spiritual fire in the center of home andhearth.

Healing Prayers,by Ron Roth.  Ron is a mystic andhealer, and this cd guides you through meditative prayer beautifully.  All you have to do is still back and relaxwhile you listen.  He leans towardsmystical Christianity but he doesn't expect you to.  His teachings on prayer and meditationembrace all spiritual paths.

Movies:

Baraka - aspellbinding film that delivers an unforgettable collection ofsnapshots from the global family album. Some of the most moving images portray the devotional activities ofpeople around the world.  We see themgathering at sacred sites and performing rituals that have retained an intimacywith the natural world.  Baraka, taken from the Sufi word meaning"blessing" or "essence of life," is a tutorial for the spiritual practice ofdevotion, showing us how to do it and why. ---from Spiritual Rx,Prescriptions for Living a Meaningful Life, by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat

Websites:

AllBooks For Less- Amazing website for any book lover. They have thousands of books on any topic you can think of, and great prices.  It's not like Amazon where you are buyingfrom individual sellers.  This is a reputable dealer and most of the booksare available in quantity, which is great for book clubs as well as giftgiving.  Search for your  favorite author or topic and see how muchsavings you can gather this summer.

Paper Crucible- Huge SoulCollage gallery from Sandra in Oregon.  You will probably get some inspiration for (at least) one new card for your Deck here.

International Book Project-   This professional non-profit organization serves long-term emerging literacy needs around the globe and athome, as well as responds to areas impacted by natural and humanitariancrises. Their mission is to promote education and literacy whilebroadening Americans' understanding of their neighbors. You can donate actual books or money.

Daily Affirmation Room- Click on any one of 16 juicy topics and you'll be given an affirmation (different every time) that you can use to reinforce your inner growth in that area (or to inspire a SoulCollage card).  Topics include: creating money and abundance, clearing blockages, flowing emotions, growing spiritually, your ideal career, living your life purpose, losing weight, loving relationships, loving yourself... and more.  I use this tool often and always get exactly what I need.

The Stock Exchange- Over 350,000 quality photos and all of them at no charge, that's the best part!  This is the leading complimentary stock photo site. Need images for a card you're working on?  It's all here.
