Resources to support your inner work

as

you dive deeper into your beautiful soul

Books:

Night Swimming,by Robin Schwarz.  I highly recommendthis exciting, romantic novel about a woman peeling away the layers of herselfto find the true soul within.  The maincharacter is Charlotte Clapp, who discovers that she has one year to live.  She's never done anything bold or daring inher life, but she seizes the moment, quits her job and robs the bank where shehad worked for 15 years.  Two milliondollars richer, she goes on the lam to learn what life and love are all about.  She meets some interesting characters alongthe way, and gathers up all the lessons that life has to offer. Written withhumor, joy, and a keen eye for life. Great story, memorable characters, lots of emotion.  This is Schwarz's first novel and I'll bekeeping a lookout for her next one.

Your Soul'sCompass, by Joan Borysenko and Gordon Dveirin. Borysenko uses sacredtexts, ranging from the Torah to the Tao Te Ching, to explore spirituallyguided lives.

Pack of Two,by Caroline Knapp.  An intimateexploration of the relationship between dogs and dog owners.  If you have ever loved a dog, you must not miss thisone!

Inner JourneyingThrough Art-Journaling, by Marianne Hieb.  Subtitled Learningto See and Record your Life as a Work of Art.  This little book treats art journaling as aspiritual, meditative practice that you can incorporate into your life.  Lots of excellent examples and ideas.  Marianne says that art-journaling "is ameditative stance before inner wisdom, an exercise in prayer.  It creates process, yields a product, invitesa way of presence, and can become a practice."

Movies:

The Power of Forgiveness- Featuring Thomas Moore, Marianne Williamson, and Elie Wiesel. An Amish community rocked by a school shooting, survivors of 9/11,victims of the "troubles" of Northern Ireland and others share theirviews on how forgiveness has helped to alleviate their grief andresentment in this emotional documentary. Filmmaker Martin Doblmeierexplores the spiritual, physical and psychological benefits offorgiveness and includes interviews with Elie Weisel and VietnameseBuddhist leader Thich Nhat Hanh.

Websites:

Dialogue Project- If you're a quotations addict like me, you will enjoy this traveling public art project by Mike Garibaldi Frick.  You can see Frick's nine (7' x 8') freestanding screens and several lifecast statues covered with inspiring quotations on the themes of character, community, creativity, life, love, success, wisdom, and more.  They'll be on view from now through December in the following locations: New York, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Washington, Idaho, Ohio, New Mexico, Connecticut, D.C., Florida, Illinois, California and Colorado.

Johannus Boots- wonderful art that depicts our spiritual connection to the Earth.

CDBaby-- There's abundantmusic to inspire your soul on this great site for purchasing CD's.  Their customer service is awesome; their shipping prices are less thanAmazon's; you can listen to samples of the music before you buy it; they're asmall company with a big sense of humor and an excellent attitude toward theircustomers. All you have to do is buy there once and you'll see what I mean!Their New Age musiccollection is very broad, and perfect for background music while you'remaking those beautiful SoulCollage cards!

Journaling Prompts- I have found these helpful in inspiring some deeper inner work.  They  go beautifully with the SoulCollage process too.
