Quotation of the Week
I trust the tempo of my unfolding.
---Julia Cameron ![]() Inner Journeys with Anne Marie Bennett Integrating the Practice of SoulCollage® Into Our Daily Lives Trusting the Tempo of My Unfolding When
I first read this quotation above, my heart practically leapt out of my chest in
recognition of its deep inner truth for me. I doodled over it for several days
in my art journal and hung my favorite page near my altar. When I can truly trust the tempo of my unfolding, then I can yield to it. But it's all about trust. It's all about letting go of my own preconceived notions of what I think my unfolding should look like, and allowing it, instead, to be what it is. For example, maybe I am thinking that making several SoulCollage® cards each week will be conducive to my unfolding, but what is really happening is that my sister-in-law's father is very sick and I have been spending all of my time with her in the hospital, lending support, bringing her coffee and sandwiches, holding her while she cries. A few years ago I might have spent unnecessary energy judging myself and finding myself lacking for not being able to make as many SoulCollage® cards each week as I originally intended. But today, I step back. I step aside from myself and I see the bigger picture- that my "unfolding" is happening no matter how many SoulCollage® cards I make or don't make. My soul is going to blossom and expand as long as I am willing to step back and let it happen, as long as I give myself permission to trust the process. Reflection Activities: How do you try to control your inner growth with preset rules and judgments? What does your unfolding look like today? How can you express this unfolding using words or images? Make a SoulCollage® card for your unfolding self, and/or the part of you that is learning to trust that gentle unfolding. SoulCollage®
ExpressionsIdeas and Challenges to Spice Up Your SoulCollage® Practice Idea of the Week I have two 6-drawer rolling carts w/images sorted in each drawer. The drawers can be removed if needed for easy "rifling thru"...so I have fewer images all over the place when searching. It makes for quick clean-up too.

The Native American Medicine Wheel offers us a sacred container to honor the wisdom of the seasons and cycles of life, the elemental qualities, and the guidance of animals and archetypal energies. We will imagine ourselves sitting in the center of our own medicine wheel, inviting in the elements of the four directions in relation to the four SoulCollage® suits as a gift of support. We will work with the guidance of the Visionary, Healer, Teacher, and Warrior as they represent the energies of the four directions. Our time together will be experiential, with lots of time for questions and sharing. Alexa has led women's rituals including rites of passage for over twenty years using the medicine wheel as the sacred container to hold the experience. She has been actively engaged in the use of dreamwork, movement, and expressive artwork (both personally and therapeutically) as a process for guidance and healing. During this tele-class, Laura will offer some practical tips for incorporating more silence into your life and your SoulCollage® practice (alone, with friends or as a facilitator in workshops).
