Part 1- The Hero's Journey and Our SoulCollage Decks
Seena Frost has said that the Council suit and Companion suit make up "the larger story." What is this larger story, and what does it mean for our lives? In this tele-class, we discuss our SoulCollage cards as the revelation of the "hero's journey" we have undertaken and what the stages of this journey are. We also consider the potential value of reading certain myths to enrich our SoulCollage work and our participation in "the larger story."

Dialogue With The Mysteries:
Part 2- Our Personal Mythology

This is a discussion of what Seena Frost calls the "local story," the Committee and Community suits, relative to our own personal mythologies. On a personal level, author James Hollis writes, we all cling to images of ourselves originating with our culture or our parents, images outgrown, irrelevant, or constrictive.
Our Committee suit may be revealing core beliefs about ourselves and the world, personal myths that we have lived by unconsciously, and similarly, new myths (beliefs) that are emerging and evolving as we continue to engage in the sacred work of SoulCollage.
To paraphrase William Blake, "We must more consciously create our own myths or be enslaved to the myths of another." Towards this end, we will be answering questions with the potential to open new vistas in our SoulCollage work.

The Creative Journey Game
Presented by Barb Kobe, creator of the Creative Journey Game, and Anne Marie Bennett, SoulCollage Facilitator.
The Creative Journey is an adventure in self-discovery and creative problem solving. This is a process that Barb created after studying The Hero's Journey and The Heroine's Journey for several years. She created a visual diary of the journey (in the form of a collaged game board) along with 3-dimensional game pieces (similar to intentions of the SoulCollage cards) that travel around the board. Journaling and story-telling are also important tools within this journey game.
This game/process is a way of identifying your journey, of seeing the ongoing thread, theme or pattern to your own life's trek. It permits you to see the linkage between events and people in a way that provides meaning about self and others. This contributes to personal well-being and a greater sense of direction and conscious participation in life.

Embracing the Mystery of Our Shadow Parts

We all have aspects of ourselves that we wish we could hide and pretend that they don’t exist. Some of the shadowy parts of self may include the jealous self, angry self, guilty self, lazy self, the victim, the liar, the addict, the opinionated one, the judgmental one, the impatient one etc Often these parts of self may seem broken, disgusting or weak and we try to suppress them because they seem unacceptable and do not fit in with the ‘norms’ in society.
Through this SoulCollage tele-class, we approach our shadow aspects as a mystery to be explored, rather than a problem to be solved or an illness to be cured! You will learn to see your shadowy aspects as only one piece of you and not as your whole being.
